The Hot Shield HS-2 Wildland Firefighter Face Mask is a patented (U.S. Patent 6,628,308) face protector mask designed for wildland firefighters by firefighters. The model HS-2 protects most areas of the face and neck from heat and flame burns while reducing inhalation of airborne soot and ash particulate common to all wildfires. Hear and flame protection is achieved through multiple layers of CarbonX, the most inherently non-flammable fabric in the world. Twin layers of CarbonX mesh assist in air exchange and to block smoke and ash particulate, along with the included N-95 low level respirator filter that fits inside the integral filter pocket. Soft comfortable CarbonX fabric at the mouth / nose cone area helps absorb perspiration. Schotchlite Reflective trim aids in nighttime visibility. Packaged with (1) N-95 activated carbon filter. Lightweight, weighing only 5.8 oz / 162.4 grams.
